  2024-03-27

Over the past decade, extensive research has been directed toward the discovery of Aurora-selective small-molecule inhibitors. As a result, a handful of Aurora inhibitors has been identified. Among them, 1 (VX-680) and 2 (SNS-314) have entered human clinical trials as pan-Aurora kinase inhibitors (F

Material and methods Results Discussion Asparagine, arginine, leucine, methionine, and glutamine are the essential PKI-587 for cancer cells and intensively investigated for the development of selective targeted therapeutics. Among them, asparagine depleting bacterial enzyme asparaginase is

  2024-03-26

Several MAP kinases are involved in the signal transduction pathways that lead to the upregulations of inflammatory mediators. Moreover, transcriptional activations of STATs are regulated by MAP kinases, as evidenced by reports that p38 MAPK is necessary for the S727 phosphorylation of STATs (Kovari

Introduction Antimicrobial resistance is a growing health threat worldwide that has been associated with incorrect prescription and overuse of pde-5 inhibitors [1]. Considering that physicians play a central role in antibiotic usage, a better understanding of their prescribing behaviours and their

  2024-03-26

MAPs require divalent transition metal ions as cofactors for activity [21]. Previous studies on MAPs from different organisms indicate cobalt ions to be the most preferred divalent metal activator [22]. However, MAPs also exhibit activity with other divalent cations like Mn(II), Ca(II), Ni(II) or Fe

  2024-03-26

Elevated aminopeptidase activities were often detected in organs of plant with accelerated protein turnover, such as leaves and petals during senescence, fruits maturation or in germinating seeds [22]. Moreover, it was proven that these enzymes take part in defense responses [[23], [24], [25]]. Part

  2024-03-26

Within the PARP family, TIPARP is most evolutionarily conserved with PARP12 (ARTD12) and PARP13 (ARTD13) [27,28,41]. All three proteins contain at least one RNA-type CCCH zinc finger domain, a poly-ADP-ribose binding WWE domain and a PARP catalytic domain (Fig. 1). PARP13 is catalytically inactive,

Discussion Here, we show opposing effects of iontophoretically administered phenylephrine, aselective α1-AR agonist, on firing of putatively DAergic and non-DAergic neurons recorded in vivo in the VTA of urethane anaesthetized rats. The literature suggests that adiponectin has a steroidogenic effect on ovarian function. In pigs, in vitro studies have shown that adiponectin reduced basal testosterone secretion in internal theca cells; in granulosa cells, it increased secretion of estradiol and, in combination with insulin, incre

Based on the observation that antipsychotic drugs increase 5-HT1A–D2 heteromerization level (Łukasiewicz et al., 2016), we set out to compare the effect of paroxetine to that of risperidone. Paroxetine, a potent SSRI, is very effective in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, e.g., gene

The activity of an enzyme may be regulated allosterically as well as transcriptionally. We have consistently studied REMS deprivation (REMSD) associated NA mediated allosteric regulation of Na-K ATPase activity in neurons and glia in vivo and in vitro (Amar and Mallick, 2015; Amar et al., 2016; Bask

  2024-03-25

Tumor suppressor ARF regulates the activity of p53 by inhibiting the functions of Mdm2. ARF is induced by hyperproliferative signals emanating from oncogenic Ras, overexpressed c-myc, and from deregulated E2F . ARF prevents p53 degradation and leads to increased p53 function by sequestering Mdm2 to
